The Public Sector Digital Marketplace

Digital-Marketplace

Cloud computing has completely altered the way businesses process and handle data and the public sector is no exception. Cloud offers faster and more cost-effective IT solutions in almost every case which was acknowledged by the UK Government back in 2011.

Its aim was to shift 50% of new IT spending into cloud-based services by 2015 so introduced G-Cloud to ease the procurement process for public sector bodies.

G-Cloud came into fruition in 2012, offering an online store - The Digital Marketplace (previously Cloud Store), where public service providers could search for services covered by G-Cloud framework agreements.

There have been several frameworks since its creation, released generally every 6-9 months to keep up to date with the changes in this fast-paced industry, with the latest release of G-Cloud 10 on 2nd July 2018. Service providers have to apply for each new framework in order to be eligible, even if they have been approved for previous frameworks.

Assured DP’s Rubrik as a Service solution has been awarded G-Cloud 10 under the Cloud Software category where users can find full details of the features and benefits of Rubrik Cloud Data Management which simplifies backup and recovery for virtual and physical environments.

“We are very proud to be included in G-Cloud 10.” Managing Director Rob Mackle said in response to this achievement. “We already provide our Rubrik as a Service solution to a number of public sector bodies including the NHS and have a proven track record of TCO savings that our solutions have brought to these organisations.”
